About us

We are from the West Midlands in England, where we were part of the leadership team for the youth fellowship at Aldridge Parish Church. Our initial encounter with China came after Robin Hill, director of Hope Healing Home, extended an invitation to the group to visit the home in Beijing. We came with a group of teenagers to volunteer for two weeks at HHH in August 2001. The experience was unforgettable and our connections with the home remained until we volunteered again with a different group in August 2004.
That visit led to us becoming full time staff for 18 months, Lee as volunteer coordinator and maintenance man, and Becky as preschool teacher and Sponsorship coordinator. This time was invaluable for us and as our time at Hope drew to an end we felt led to search for other opportunities to work with orphan in Beijing. Which is how we transitioned to our next venture at Blue Sky Healing Home, where we were asked to help set up a new branch of the home.
Looking back China was never somewhere that we considered as a place to live, and to work with abandoned children was not something we had ever imagined, and yet by God's grace and guidance we have developed a love for the country and its people, particularly those children that we work so closely with, as we see so many of their lives transformed. We feel immensely privileged to play our small part in this, knowing that there is one who is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.
